Domaine Prieur Cuvée
Maréchal Prieur Sancerre Blanc
Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Making: Grapes are intact when they are brought into the pneumatic presses with a conveyor to save them from oxidation and pummeling.
Vinification -80% in tanks, 20% in oak barrels. Fermentation on such small volumes allows an interesting maturing on the lees with regular strirring. This unrushed maturation permits the wine to develop and provide it with good aging potential.
Tasting Notes: From the south-facing clay-limestone “terres blanches”, this wine is named after a Prieur family ancestor, who was already exporting their wines over a century ago. Barrel-ageing on the lees adds a fine toasted character to this succulent, fleshy wine, with an expressive lemony flavor. A deep and flavorsome wine
Food Pairing: Enjoy with foie gros
