Chateau de Caraguilhes “Solus White”
Corbières – Organic
Varietal: 90% Grenache blanc, 10% Roussanne Vinified and aged for 9 months in French oak (demi-muid)
Color – A pale yellow wine, bright and clear, showing its freshness and youth.
Nose – The white Grenache displays its unique character and an elegant complexity. Seductive scents of lemon, apricot and grapefruit. After aeration, it is the minerality which comes to the fore, with subtle notes of white flowers and redcurrants. As the wine gains power it reveals a certain distinctive purity though notes of fresh almonds.
Mouth – Round and lively; concentrated red fruits and grapefruit as on the nose. The wine is beautifully balanced and delivers throughout its length a mineral expression of the Boutenac terroir. The Solus white 2015 is a lovely rich, pure wine.
Food Pairing: Rock lobster in aspic, coquilles St Jacques, sole with wild mushrooms, gratin of scallops with saffron, salmon coulibiac, monkfish, goats’ cheese… or, our favorite, foie gras with quince jam.
