Chateau de Caraguilhes “Solus Red”
Corbières – Organic
Varietal: 30% Syrah, 30% Mourvedre, 40% Carignan Aged in oak barrels for 9 months
Color – Deep, dense, crimson garnet. Intense concentration.
Nose – Intense delicate aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and sherry. Upon breathing, it opens up with scents of moka and liquorice bringing further complexity.
Mouth– The immediate impression is richness together with a cohesive balance between the fruit, the softness of the tannins and the wine’s effortless concentration. A powerful, intense, sun soaked wine with remarkable freshness and considerable length – it is a true expression of our terroir as in the previous vintages. Already supple, it is a wine that can be drunk now yet has the character and structure for ample ageing.
Food Pairing: Quail with truffles, entrecôte steak, rabbit with plums, pork with caramel sauce, confit de canard, fine cheeses, smoked duck, beef wagyu. The satiny fruit of the Solus red means it can also be enjoyed on its own.
