The Beginning of Tru-Wines

Finally in 2002 Pierre started his own wine import and distribution company, which he named Tru Wines “ In Vino Veritas” .

Growing up in the South of France in an area surrounded by vineyards, and working his entire career involved in the selection of wines for clients and customers could only translate into creating what has become Tru Wines LLC.

The company offers a choice of highly selected treasures from all the vineyards of France. Some famous and some hard to find gems at most of times unbelievable low prices.

Owner Pierre Truyoo

Pierre Truyoo graduated from the top French Hotel University of Thonon-Les-Bains near Geneva Switzerland in 1972. There, he studied oenology (the science of wines) as part of the curriculum.

After 4 years working as Maitre D’Assistant on cruise ships with Paquet Lines and 2 years in Food and Beverage management with Sofitel Corporation in their then flagship hotel in Paris, Pierre moved to Los Angeles in the spring of 1978 to join the fame Restaurateur Bernard Jacoupy at his celebrated eatery “Bernard’s Restaurant” in the Biltmore Hotel Downtown LA.

After 8 years with Bernard’s, Pierre went to the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood as General Manager. A year and a half later, he started his career in the wine business working 15 years with 3 importers and developing a substantial clientele with restaurants, hotels and retailers.
